How is this HD TV? Why so cheap?

My mom bought a TV for me at Leons, but I have to owe back. It is one of those Toshiba narrow Bezel designs. It was on sale for 1,300 instead of 1,800. Why is the price so cheap? They had Blu-ray running on it but it didn't look that good. Did Toshiba purposely lack the quality of Blu ray because they hat Blu or is it that the codec was just bad on that movie? 1. It's a good set at a good price.

If you're not getting a good picture, the problem may be that you aren't feeding it from a good HD source, or don't have it connected properly.

Not all blu-ray movies are properly mastered for full quality.

  2. no, just because it has been discounted does not mean that it is bad. There are many reasons a store may discount a product. They may be a lost leader, meaning they reduce the price to draw people in to buy other stuff. The manufacturer may have told them to reduce the price to reduce stok.

Saying all this, I looked at the TV specs and it looks  like a very good unit for a very good price.

Tell your mom she made a good deal.

  3. cheap because it has no converter box, would be my guess

  4. Check out this set.... you can get it for around the same price, plus it's much better than toshiba, its a Sony!

  5. it looks like it might be an older model tv. company's are always coming out with something new, and stores will put the older ones at a clearance price to make space for  the new ones.

depending on how many the store has and how fast they have to get rid of them, is how they price the actual unit.
