i personally like this ink..

its a unique design and im sure has meaning to you...

ravens are a great animal symbol..

your artist can make it more unique for you tho

im a tattoo artist and can tell u now, this would look fantastic on your shoulder.. might need to enlarge it more, as many of those lines are close and dark. this in time will turn into a big smudge if not a bigger design..

if it means something to you and YOU really like it then get it as long as it's done by someone who does good work. the tattoo artist is more important than people think!

and really, it's all about what you think. just make sure you know deep in your gut that you won't regret it.

It's pretty decent - size and placement would matter, you'd want it big enough so as not to blur or look blobby from 10' away. Make sure that the eye is clearly open to give it a dynamic and power. Also, check your directional lines before you place it, - the viewer will follow the line of site that the bird is facing.

Are there hidden initials or letters in the neck area?

It appears pretty individual and personal, and the design is good, not overworked. I would like the feather details to be a tad more prominent (those little curls etc.). Little tweaks this way and that will give it life.
