  1. Looking good so far.

Not sure if it was my IE bowser but some of the tables were off. On ours, http://opencubicle.net the tables and ads line right up correctly.

A little tweaking on your template and you'll be okay.

  2. I like it. It is now on my favorites bar.

  3. Its well put together, but I read your blog about the decision on g*y marriage and I have to say that I disagree with your stand using the term "marriage". Basically implying that a same-s*x couple can be joined in some kind of union where they vow their love and commitment to each other, but that the union cannot be called marriage isn't much better than not allowing same-s*x marriages at all. The best analogy that I can think of for this kind of situation is as follows:

As everyone knows, the Olympic games are one of the most widely watched athletic events in the world, but there is a separation in the games based on physical abilities. So, because of this we have the "regular" Olympics and the "special" Olympics. Unfortunately, due to the perception of many individuals in society, the special Olympics are seen as less relevant than the "regular" Olympic games and are not perceived as being on the same level. So, with your stance on the g*y marriage issue and not feeling that the union between a same-s*x couple should be called marriage, you're turning same s*x unions into the special Olympics of weddings. Its just insulting and makes g*y men and women second class citizens.

However, the blog itself is very well set up and nicely organized. Some of the entries are a little bit short though. Keep up the good work :)

  4. ok

  5. I agree with your political views, found some of your stuff a bit preachy, and didn't think any of it had enough edge to it.

Personally, I think you should be more fervent in your opinions, that makes them more interesting to read.  For instance, instead of, "Well, Mrs. Clinton sure has a run pretty decent campaign and all...don't get me wrong, but I think it's about time for her to drop out and let Barack be the nominee."  Instead, try:  "I don't know about you guys, but I don't know what the h**l Hillary is doing staying in the race.  Is she delusional enough to think she can actually win?  Is she expecting the superdelegates to overturn the will of the voters?  Or is she simply staying in to hurt her rival Senator Obama?"

  6. Did you write all that? i like it its eye catching too

  7. I sort of like it. I think the fonts at the top needs to be smaller. Keep the hand/finger the same size. Don't use fancy fonts, use bold fonts. A great font for that is "Impact" you can get it free by goggling it.

The "Opinions are like..." needs to be in italics and on the right... remove the brackets.

To be honest with you... you can make the hand/finger 3 or 4 times larger. Stuff like that are about impact and it would work even if cropped... you are looking for the "idea" and not just clarity of what it is. In that particular image it will get grainy when you make it larger unless you have a big original. Also dither around the edges of the hand... iow, blur the edges of the hand slightly into the background of the white.

Use a different counter style... it should be subtle. Keep in mind that everything that is not subtle takes away from your impact items.

Keep in mind that you can put "tables inside of tables"... if you don't understand that HTML stuff, don't worry... if you do, that is the key to placing things where you want them. It is all about tables and tables inside of tables.

  8. I like it, it's quite thoughtful, but you can put in more ideas and explain them a bit more

  9. I quite enjoyed your articles.  I think it's because I'm from a different part of the world, so it is interesting for me to get a personal opinion on something that I've heard about briefly in the news (like the g*y marriage issue) or to see how others are affected by issues also touching shores closer to home for me (like petrol prices, and nice picture for that one, even though that isn't a particularly important issue to me.)

I thought it wouldn't have hurt to go into some more detail with your opinion.  The articles are very brief after the initial overview, but maybe you are going for a tabloid-style?  I think as you get the hang of this, you'll quickly find your own style that will set in.  You're doing well.  I like the layout too, with the poll question on the side too, but the headline was a little over the top.  Overall, though, I liked it!  Keep it up!  I'll be interested to see where you go from here.
