How is this for a boy's name?

I love the story cruel intentions... all the movie and book versions.. especially "Valmont" with Colin Firth in it.

Is it ok to name a boy Valmont then use the nickname "Monte"? I love poker too...

if it appeals to you, then its perfect ! it means something too . it sounds very strong though, and really romantic . i like it :) it has a european flair to it !

its different but its still classy sounding. monte would be an ok nick name but i like val better. i had a guy friend who went by the name val when i was in highschool. i always thought that was a cool name. and then there is always val kilmer. definatly a cool person. im really starting to like the name you have chosen.

I love the nickname Monte. it's so unique and original. Along the same lines I like the name Dante too.

It is definitely different. I like it. At least he will be the only one with the name in most circumstances. Plus it will look good on a college diploma etc... When I read the name I did not recognize it as a movie name and I saw the movies so the child won't stand out as having a movie name which can be a pain at times. I say go for it.
