How is this for a rough book plot?

Question

Okay basically it is a major clash between mankind and another race [later revealed to be an ancient civilisation. Massive questions are raised such as is the human race really supreme and are we always doing the right thing,

In the book, major world leaders decide to exploit the 'other world's' resources, however the past fights back ... with great force and power,

The book involves typical struggles of the main characters, a boy who is thrown into another world and is ill-received, but he is the only one who has lived on both sides however he can't get back, until the government finds the pass place [ a lightning struck tree] and invades the new [or old world].

Incase you are wondering, the forces the other worlds possess' is most likely going to be wizards although they are exiled and to regain their trust would be another key part of the plot

I know its jumbled but as i've said it's very rough

Any comments/question/improvements would be welcome.

It's great, i love your story.  I also have many great ideas on books that i know for sure would be bestsellers but when i can't put my ideas on paper, i hope you don't have the same problem.

When i see your book on barnes and nobles i would buy it for sure.

I like. Seriously. And as an avid reader of fantasy and sci fi if this interests me you must be heading in the right direction! :D

Only thing I'm not keen on is the lightning struck tree.. sounds a little cliche is all.

Don't be so hard on yourself. It's a great idea. It sounds like a deep novel and one that would be very good. I would go ahead and write it. Don't get discouraged if it is hard to write. Alot of authors get bored with their books, but if you get bored just put it to the side until you have more ideas.
