GPS position is very much accurate provided data of the area you are in is in the records. if there is no data available then GPS cannot tell you where exactly you are, it will give you the co-ordinates (latitude & longitude) which is useless to you.

u may find  this ridiculous..GPS is another gimmick meant for 'the ready to throw cash and show off' kinds

its hopelessly useless esp in a country like ours and population like ours

The GPS features on cell phones are usually within 1300 Meters of a Cell tower. I wouldnt rely on it for remote locations personally.
