How is this possible!!

I live in a city that is 2 hours from where I am right now. My house is over there too and it has been vacant for a week and a half now. Nobody has the key to the house, and nobody should be in there. To my shock, I got a call on my cell from this supposedly vacant house, but I didn't answer because I was in the bathroom. I called back immediately and there was no answer. I am sure it was the house that called and I checked with others to make sure it's the right nimber, time, and everything. I called the cops immediately and they went to my house. Doors and Windows locked and secured. What do you guys think?????? I'm so puzzeled!!!

It DOES sound as if someone has gained access to your house.  Can you send a friend by to check safely?

At the very least, the police should drive by frequently and keep watch in general on the situation.  Is there some other way in that they could have missed, such as a basement-level hatch?

Even if you have to make the drive, you will need to check this out very soon.
