Hi: My boyfriend and I from Mexico wanted to go to a cruisse to Alaska on September. Some people told us that it wouldnt be nice. We want to know and ask people that had traveled in that month to Alaska or that lived in Alaska how would it be.

Can we see all the amazing buildings and there is tourism? Please help us.

Thanks and regards,

  1. There's never a bad time to visit Alaska. I live here so I should know, haha. It's beautiful in the fall watching the leaves turn yellow and the mountain tops blanketed with snow, the winter is beautiful especially the scenery and the mountains and tons of activities to do and great ski/snowboarding resorts. Also if you come in the winter there's this place called Chena Hot Springs where you can soak in alaska's hot springs and is especially great at night while viewing the nothern lights.  The summers here are the best too! (well except this year) Lots of cruises, hiking is great, lots of daytime, and a great nightlife downtown.  Alaska is full of tourism! I guess the only problem will be is trying to fit all these activities into a packed schedule.  =)

  3. Alaska is beautiful and it won't be as cold then.  I'd go any time of year.  Loved it.

  4. I have never been on a cruise to Alaska but I have lived here in Alaska for 10 years. Alaska is amazing. truly beautiful. We have only gotten over 65 degrees a few times this summer and there has been more rain than normal. I would wear and bring warm clothes. Polar fleece winter jacket with outer wind breaker and fleece gloves and a hat. July is usually nicer but this summer I really don't think it matters. It's been cold and wet all summer. I would definitely do it. I would love to go on an Alaskan cruise and I live here! Try to get train tickets up to Denali and take a bus tour in Denali if you have time. You will see lots of things. I lived in Ketchikan for 4 years and it's very neat, lots of totem poles and Eagles. Seward, exit glacier and the seward sea-life center. Hope this helps.

  5. Its a good time to go and you can usually get some pretty good bargains cost wise.  Take plenty of mosquito repellent

however, that's the month for mosquito's in some areas of Alaska.  I am not kidding.

  6. We went on an Alaskan cruise in September and it was great not overly cold and all the gift shops had very big sales and discounts because it was the end of their season. The ice burgs are beautiful blue and ice still floats int the waters. you will love it.
