How is using LPG instead of gasoline benificial to the environment?

basically it means how much energy it takes to raise the temperature 1 degree farenheit of 1 pound of water.

It burns cleaner, so there are less emissions per unit of energy extracted.  But it is only marginally better.  You could do nearly as well keeping your tires properly inflated.

Also, gasoline tends to become more contaminated with water which cuts down the efficiency of the burn significantly.  LPG absorbs very little water

LPG is also a fossil fuel.  Per BTU it gives off just as much CO2 as gasoline.

Be careful of those people who quote CO2 per quantity of fuel.  To be "apples and apples" you need to quote CO2 per the amount of energy produced ... BTU.

In other words, there is an insignificant difference on environmental impact.

LPG liquid Propane Gas the final byproduct in refining crude oil it's gasoline or diesel in a different form it's also much harder to transport. better off looking to renewable fuel electric cars.

CO2 Emissions per litre of fuel

Petrol 2.4 kg

LPG 1.6 kg

Diesel 2.7 kg

LPG releases around 76% of the co2 that gasoline would. (allowing for about 15% increase in consumption.)

For no 2 LPG uses much less energy to produce.

P.s. For "jdkilp" you will see that I have allowed for a 15% increase in fuel consumption in this example. This is in line with what someone would expect with the conversion.

LPG has more hydrogen and less carbon than gasoline, so it produces less CO2 when burned.

LPG also produces less "traditional" pollutants.
