How is vinegar like except its sour?

i have no clue what to tell my kid anymore.

It's sour and tangy tasting,  and pungent smelling. Balsamic vinegar is fruitier and very dark.There is wine vinegar, apple vinegar, white vinegar, rice vinegar. It is used to pickle and to prepare salad dressings. White vinegar gets rid of lime because of its acid PH.

Wine can also include herbs like tarragon, or basil, or taste and smell garlicky because of garlic cloves, some even have small chiles.

Vinegar is a thin watery fluid ,which is very sour ,it is an excellent preservative & so used liberally in pickling food stuffs from vegetables to meats. Chemically it is dilute acetic acid ,white usually but a malt vinegar is straw coloured ,

Don;t think a kid will be interested in all this stuff ,you can tell him what he reallu likes to know,or as suggested a taste on the tip of the tounge will be more effective .

I know of a refreshing chilled summer drink made of very dlute ,sweetrned,vinegar ,called shikanji .

maybe you don't need to tell your kid anything anymore...let them dip their finger in it and have them describe it themselves.  though, my family did that to me when i was small and now i absolutely love vinegar!  i mix it with shoyu(soy sauce) and drink it sometimes...not a lot though just like a few table spoons to get my fix.  and i don't drink it in gulps...just little sips because it kinda burns.
