How is your Vonage service? I've heard pros and cons. I need a good, phone service?

I've gone the Cox service route, the Qwest route and need a phone service that can bill correctly each month (my problem with both the previous mentioned services) and is reasonably priced. Or do you know of a better service? I'm in Phoenix.

Please share your experience - thanks!

  1. i haven't had a land line in the last couple of years, but just recently we got the VOIP videophone thru Globalinx--check out www.5linx.net/lab for all their plans.  So far we're loving it and we only pay $24.95 a month. No complaints or hidden charges. Hope this helps!

  2. go to idea.

  3. I always thought that Vonage sucked!!

  4. I've been a Vonage customer since 2003 and other than the downfall of losing cable service or a power outage at times I don't have any complaints. Their billing is done in "real time" so if you make international calls you can always keep an eye on what your bill will be. I have only been off by a few cents a few times. Vonage costs just $24.99 a month, but don't forget there are charges for tax, FCC regulations ect, which are always the same, so my base charge actually comes up to $30.73 per month not counting international calls. Remember calls to all the states in the US, Europe, Puerto Rico, and  Canada are also included in the base charge. All extras, like call waiting, call forwarding, Caller ID, as well as quite a few other services are included with your monthly charge as well.

  5. I live in Canada.  I think Vonage Canada is too expensive for me to consider.  So, I use two other VoIP services that are USA based, but provide service to Canada.

As my primary VoIP service, I use InPhonex LiteLine for $7.95/month.  Includes unlimited incoming calls + 2.5 cents/min for all outgoing calls to anywhere in USA/Canada/UK.  As my secondary VoIP service I use CallCentric.  A CallCentric DID phone number is only $1.95/month + 1.5 cent/min incoming calls + 1.9 cent/min outgoing calls to anywhere in USA/Canada.  (links through my profile).  Most important for both services is No Contracts, No obligations, no minimums, only pay-as-you-go... quit anytime, no penalties...

  6. Some friends of mine suggested I try a service which was coming to the UK from the USA, I took their recommendation and switched. That was 9 years ago and I reckon it is the best service available.

Now that company started in the US and I know that it now has even more services available.

If you care to email me I will give you a web site address where you can find out more information, also I could put you in touch with a friend in California who uses the service, and she could tell you how she finds it.
