  1. Most notably, customers aren't coming in anymore.  They're all saying, "I can't afford anything because of the price of gas."  I've adjusted my budget for the increase in gas prices (my summer vacation was a week shorter for example), but I haven't cut out anything simply because of the cost of gas.

There is a inproportianate increase in cost of some goods (i.e. milk, bread) that cannot solely be blamed on the cost of oil/gas.  In the last 2 years the cost of milk has gone up 70% locally.  That either means that there's more than oil that's going up, or they're only transporting 50 gallons or so of milk at a time.  The cost of bread has doubled in the last 3 years.

  2. I  don't go anywhere long-distance unless I have to.

  3. The roads are empty.  These roads have been jammed for the last 10 years.  I actually enjoy driving.

  4. Yes. I had to quit my 35-minute drive job and get a job in the town I live in because the gas was canceling out such a big part of my paycheck.

Also this fall I'm going to be taking online courses instead of commuting to my college (also 35 minutes away).
