How it add a second moderator?

we have a group the original owner is no longer in are group. how do I add someone as a owner / moderator.

Only an Owner can make someone else the owner or moderator.  Even if  the group was abandoned by the owner.  The fact still remains: The current owner(s) are the only ones that can make someone else a owner or moderator.  Send an email to the owner and ask if he/she will make someone a co-owner or moderator.  (If you can access the members list, you will find her email address by clicking on Members and scrolling to her info.)  If you can't get in contact with the owner, your group will have to continue on as it is.  If it gets overrun with spam, it would be best to start your own group and post a link to it on the old group and invite current members to join.

If you are the owner of the moderator, you can give other members of your group privileges to be moderators. Here is how you can do that:

But you cannot change the ownership of the group. The owner must transfer his/her ownership to another person.
