  1. Its not.

Governments create wars, and the citizens pay for them with money and lives.

Citizens get killed, a child, a brother, a sister, a father, a mother, a friend, and that dead civilians leaves dozens of people mourning, some who consider revenge on the killer over this wrongful death paid for by OUR debt.

We keep bombing, we keep killing 50 civilians to get that 1 suspect based on bad intel, we create 500 new people we can conveniently label "terrorists".

Foreign occupier with different relegion, and look, patroling in military vehicles, from the other side of the planet also breeds hate and violence.

    1) we got saddam

    2) we held elections

    3) mission accomplished

There is nothing more to do but remain, and generate new terrorists which is inevitable because of our presence. If you deny that fact, you are in a dream world.

What becomes of iraq is up to iraqis, not us.

*I fear the neocons and neolibs want to stay in iraq for one reason. For war with iran. This Georgia conflict was funded by our tax dollars also.  Just as was the installation of georgias current president in 2002. We instigate that war, we see it through, and we use it to attack iran. What for is anyones guess, however I think it has much to do with the ability to expand the power, and size, and cost of government here at home with very little questioning.

  2. War has been going on since the beginning of mankind.  It's not pretty, but it is a fact of life.  No matter what your reasoning is for wars not being necessary, it will not change anything.  The US has an interest in establishing a presence in the Middle East, and what better place to do that than Iraq?  Besides, if we were to completely withdraw from iraq and it erupts into chaos because the government can't defend itself, then what happens?  It will make the US look even worse, then chances are, we will be right back in there in a worse situation than we are in now.

  3. We act as a buffer zone between Israel and Iran..
