Question:

How large can I gauge my ears before it becomes irreversible?!?

I am currently at a size 6 ga. and I would like to go bigger. My only concern is how big I can go before it is no longer reversible. When I started to stretch my ears I went very quickly. In 3 days I went from an 18 ga. to a 14 ga. Then a week later I went to an 8 ga. I had to let my ears heal after because of how much they hurt. I waited about a month. Now I have in my 6 ga. and I am thinking about going larger. Please help! I've never done this before.

  1. OK so wat I've heard is that ones you pass a 0g u can't ever go back....(but u can always get them stitched up) so it's all on you dude oh and 2g was the one that has hurt me the most i don't know  why but yeah just make sure u clean your ear every day so u won't get and infection

    good luck

  2. My sister has had her's guaged past 00 and it has still closed up after her not putting anything in the hole for a few months.

  3. At this point it is probably no longer reversable.  once the skin on the inside of the hole heals, it will never compleatly close.

Guageing an ear is a lifelong desicion.

  4. Don't listen to people who tell you that your ears will never close back up, its just not true. Most people will tell you anything under a 00g will go back to a normal size 18g post...normally they will. Since you stretched your so quickly, you probably have some scar tissue, which may prevent them from closing up all the way.  You really have to be careful when stretching, and take your time. If you stretch too fast your ear can rip (creating scar tissue), get an infection, or a blow out. Since you the only one who can tell if your ear has scar tissue (think back to when you were stretching your ear...did it ever bleed or get an infection? if so, you probably have at least a little scar tissue) its really up to you to determine if you should keep going. But, a stretched ear with no scar tissue will go back down from a 00g to a 18g post if you leave your jewelry out long enough.
