There's a roaring thunder and hail storm outside right now, and one of our cars is stuck in the driveway. (Garage is full.)

  1. Golf ball sized.

  2. In most cases, car damage begins to occur with hail falling vertically at about the size of a quarter.

  3. omg i know how you feel i was seeing this in my window and the winds were roaring like crazy!!!when i opened the door it made me fly back.golf ball size hail could have done the damage!!!

  4. football sized hail might leave some scratches.

  5. i would imagine at least the size of a quarter can damage a window or the paint on the car. it is more about the velocity at which it is dropping

  6. We had some hail about 1 inch wide once that damaged my moms car...mostly it knocked paint off and chipped off little bits of plastic trim around the windows.

  7. Hail can begin damaging cars when it reaches severe level which according to the NWS is 3/4in hail or penny size hail.

  8. probably golfball sized or maybe a little smaller get out there and at least cover it up

    good luck =]

  9. it hailed here in alabama last summer and the hail was smaler than a golf ball. even penny sized hail left dents in our cars! it all depends on the density of the hail and how far it falls and gains speed before it hits your car....

  10. Likely up near golf-ball size. Quarter size might be possible if it's hailing hard enough, but we've had quarter hail before and it didn't do anything. Just don't stick your head out in it.

  11. Well, it probably doesn't have to be that big and depending on the size, terminal velocity would come in to play. The smaller the hail the lower the terminal velocity. You can tell how fast its moving by how high it bounces off the car and I would say it would have to be just a little bigger then june bug size to scratch it. Golf ball size to dent and crack the wind shield. Baseball size, better call the insurance guy.

Well, anyway, you're about to find out! lol...
