  2. hi you i dont know numbers but the Jewish population is very small in fact here in cork it has even got smaller in the last 10 years this in my view is because the Jewish population here is elder now

  3. As your first answerer said, it's small but has always been welcome.

    A lot of Jews from Spain married into Irish families and I suppose converted, which means that many of us have Jewish/Spanish/Portuguese/Moroccan ancestors. Nice little melting pot in the Middle Ages!

  5. The Jewish community has always been small in numbers (1,930 in the Republic of Ireland according to the 2006 census), it has generally been well-accepted into Irish life.

  6. i know its tiny in the north about 300 or something, in the south maybe a 1000 odd.  most people in ireland named murray or murphy have it as a second name not a first name.
