If my last period was around May 13th 2008. I had a ultra sound done in July 22nd and it read I am due Feb. 26th. The charts say I conceived June 5th. The charts say my last period was May 22nd which I no it was not. Can anyone explain this to me. Im having a very hard time understanding this! Can you ovulate 23 days after your last period? Help Please!

  1. Yes, it's completely possible to ovulate 23 days after your period. When your due date is calculated from the first day of your last period, it is assumed that you have perfect 28 day cycles and that you ovulate on day 14. Unfortunately many women do not have these perfect cycles and so the due date they're given does not correlate with the date they think they ovulated/conceived. If you know you ovulated on June 5th, then you can basically ignore the date of your last period and just go with a due date of Feb 26th. What they've done with May 22nd, is count back 14 days from the day of conception (June 5th) to give you an "adjusted" date for your last period, even though it's wrong.

Exactly the same thing happened to me, I have long cycles but I know when I conceived, and they adjusted the first day of my last period to exactly 14 days before conception, even though this was around a week after my actual period.

Try entering your ovulation date on here http://www.tryingtoconceive.com/eddc.htm

    Hope this helps!
