  1. The kid shouldn't be out after dark.

Come to think of it, most adults shouldn't be allowed after dark, but that's a whole other story.

At the very least, get a decent set of front and rear lights... and USE them.  Helmet use should be a given.

  2. This is what happens when kids have children.  Take the children away!

  3. After dark or after normal bedtime, whichever comes first.

It's always tragic when a child loses his life or is injured to an accident like this, and preventable.

  4. That's awful! I would like to know why this child was allowed to be out this late riding his bike and where were his parents? I wouldn't allow for a child to ride a bike past 7 without supervision.

  5. jeez, i'm almost always in before it gets dark (about 8:30) and i thought that was late. the kid should be in at 7 unless he's just puttin' around the neighborhood

  6. Depending on the age of the child...under 10 should be home before sunset. Why take a chance with all the sexual predators out there? Why take chances with the change of visibility for drivers? Be safe, not sorry!

  7. I would say that your goal should be to get your child to be home before dark, but get him to try to get home about a half hour earlier just in case he's late.

  8. 9:29

  9. Laws and safety regulations that might highlight this vary, but I suggest the following words, "If the kid doesn't see sunlight, than it's even less likely that drivers on the road will be able to see them."
