  1. i'm a 17 year old girl

    what's a bedtime??

  2. 15 year olds should not have a bedtime during the summer.......assuming they dont have things to do early in the morning.

  3. When my kids were your age I let them stay up as late as they wanted during the holidays as long as it didn't effect their attitude toward the rest of the house. No bad attitudes welcome.  Then 2 to 2.5 weeks before school started I slowly got them back on school sleeping schedule.  1/2 hour here, a 1/2 hour there.  Then once school started back there school schedule wasn't interupted with lack of sleep.  The kids still had to be homer by holiday curfew-hang in the yard, watch a movie in the house, snacks etc.  Good Luck convincing Mom & Dad that this will work for you.  Maybe a trial run to proove you can handle it, OK.

    Good Luck

    PEACE

  4. unfair im younger than you and yesterday i stayed up till 6am and i cant sleep at 12  or anything near it but its your parents choice not mine sorry good luck with changing their mind

  5. In bedroom for midnight then asleep whenever. I'm in my bedroom for 11 and I stay awake till whenever; I'm 15 too

  6. 15 and summer? No bed time...

  7. Rachael F your killing your kids childhood.

When there 18 there going to end up like my brother, my parents did that to him and we he turned 18 he had freedom and didn't know what to do.

He got heavy into drugs and alchohal.

But for the bedtime question, I'm 15 and I've never had a bedtime.

  8. Not Fair its the Summer Who cares as long as you do not wake them up.

  9. well in the summer you shouldnt have a bedtime but you shouldnt get used to sleeping late because once school starts your gonna get used to sleeping late and its gonna be hard to wake up so try not to sleep too late. 12 is fine

  10. I'm the same age and my parents let me stay up as late as I want. It's summer, we're supposed to stay up all night and sleep all day, it's our job. Lol. I think that if you can get up when you need to or something, then it shouldn't be a problem. However, if you can't, I think 12 is a good bed time. Good luck. =]

  11. it summer u shouldnt have a bed time...

  12. I'm 14, and I do homeschooling, I stay up till 5-6AM, then sleep till about 1pm. Its fuun :P

  13. I'm 17. I stay up till 6AM

At your age I stayed up until 3:30 AM - 4 AM

  14. Kyra, I'll answer this one too...I think it depends on WHAT you're doing when you stay up. If I were a parent and my 15 year old wanted to stay up until 5am on the computer I'd pull the plug. If they wanted to stay up and read, I'd applaud them. It would all depend to me. Yes, it is summer but you need to think about what a pain in the *ss it's going to be to wake up at 7am or whatever when you go back to school...

As far as being able to sleep all day...I had a job at 14 so it was not an option to sleep all day, I had to work and I wouldn't change that for anything.

  15. your old enough to not have a bed time

  16. thats not fair. im younger and even i dont have a bed time

  17. i'm 15, going on 16 and i could stay up as late as i want in the summer. my parents also let me stay up til whenever during school, but i don't like staying up too late during school, so that's probably why.

  18. wow... definitely talk to ur parents about letting them extend... or yet get RID of your bedtime. u should be able to sleep whenever u want by the time ur 15!!

  19. During the summer, as long as you aren't keeping the rest of your family up, you shouldn't have a bed time.

  20. not. i am 13 my parents dont care how long i stay up as long as i am quiet.

    for example:

it is 3 in the morning right now.

I only stay up this late in the summer.

on school nigts i usually go to sleep at 12

  21. I'm 12 n i get 2 stay up 2 11 but my bro is 15 n has no bed time so i think ur parents r not bein far. tell ur parents its summer and try compromising wit them

  22. Your body is growing.. your mind is forming new neural pathways.  You need rest.

I think midnight is reasonable.  Clearly your parents care about you... don't fight it.

Essentially, your bedtime should be dictated by your waking time.  Teens need about 8-10 hours of sleep MINIMUM.... unfortunately for mom and dad, teens like to do their sleeping during the day.

If your parents insist you wake up at 8 am, then you should hit the hay around 10 o'clock at night.

A bedtime has nothing to do with what season it is.  People don't need less sleep in the summer.  Just because you don't have school in the morning doesn't mean your brain and body have stopped developing!

If your parents are insisting on a bedtime, they probably have a reason.   Are you cranky when short on sleep?  Do you give them attitude?  Is it possisble that they want some down time (kid free) at the end of the day?  Are you glued to the computer at night?  I'll bet that if you were in your room reading quietly, your parents would lay off the bedtime issue.

If you think your parents' rules are unfair, then act like the grownup you want to be someday, and voice your rebuttal logically, without attitude. They may overrule you, that's their right, but your best bet for extending your bedtime is approaching them with maturity.

If you aren't tired, ask permission to read at night.  Maybe they'll let you watch a movie.  Or maybe they'll say no, and you'll have to deal with it.

Be happy you have parents and rules.  I made my daughter (also 15) smash her cell phone to pieces with a hammer yesterday.  All parents kind of suck, learn to appreciate yours and I'll bet they reciprocate.

  23. I'm 13, I am up right now and it's almost 1AM! I will probably be up another hour or 2.

  24. im 14 and i stay up until 4 in the morning.

but you shouldnt have a bed time. its summer (:

but i suggest u dont stay up to late because u wont wake up until wayyy wayy later.

    good luckk
