I am in debt big time (15,000). I have been using my credit cards on things that I needed and didnt need and have used my cards up until today. My APR's are extremely high and Im wondering how likely it will be to have them lowered if I call?

  1. Call each creditor and ask, the worst they can do is say no.  There is NOTHING I need enough to borrow another dime.

  2. It depends mainly on your credit score.  If you have made all your payments on time, that is good, but if you've used up all your available credit, that's bad.  The higher your score, the more likely it is that they'll work with you.  Your best leverage would be if you got an offer for a low rate card.  Then you could call and tell them about your offer and ask them to match it.
