How likely is it that a terrorist attack could be our October surprise?

I'm not trying to accuse the Republicans or Bush of a conspiracy. However, terrorists may be motivated to attack us before November to keep the Republicans in power. Doing so would lead us to be more aggressive in our foreign policy as 9/11 did. Further aggression would mean further intervention in the Middle East. This is what terror groups like Al Qaeda thrive on. If we were to become more aggressive, it would motivate terrorists and increase recruitment to terror groups. So terrorists would have a special interest in attacking us before November.

  1. Considering who was involved in the last terrorist attack, I'd say it's pretty likely.

  2. possible

  3. The democrats kool aid must be strong tonight.

  4. i think you have that backwards. the talk i hear from friends and relatives in our town is that if Obama were to be elected we would be more vunerable to attack.  i totally agree with that. without a strong leader and a prepared military we would be in real trouble. why is it liberals seem to want to weaken our military. If it had no been for Bush we would all be speaking arabic by now. Obama seems to think Iran isnt a real threat? what kind of nonsense is that. sitting down and making nice with our enemies just doesnt work, look at all the times and chances we gave saddam to stop his mass murder of his own people, good lord he killed 300,000 Kurds in northern Iraq,  and if people are really foolish enough to think he didnt send those wmds out of the country they are just mistaken, clinton even said that on tv when asked about it. he said, saddam had enough sense to get them to syria fast or hide them so deep in the desert we would never find them, Bush was tough did what he had to do. that is what we need again. tough and that is john Mccain.

  5. We are due. I figure however that they will wait after the the election, for fear of starting a "kill the terrorist" competition between the candidates, or losing their political statement in some implied political faux pas that they didn't anticipate.

They will mostly want to make Bush look bad before he leaves office in response to Iraq, Afghanistan and to rub his nose in the fact that they are "in control".

Hitting before the election would cloud the message. After the election, but before the inauguration would make it plain that they are snubbing the Bush administration.

  6. If we knew, it wouldn't be a surprise would it?

  7. Seriously, I think this whole "republicans can protect us better from terrorism" line is false. Obama and Biden were right many more times than McCain/Bush were. McCain will talk about the surge for hours on end. Thats like dropping the cookie jar on the floor and congratulating yourself for gluing it back together shoddily.

  8. I'd say Larry Sinclair's video will be the October surprise. Nuttin like watchin a presidential candidate hittin the crack pipe and gettin a nut rub.

  9. i dont know about a attack in november but i do agree with you that the terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda,Army of Islam,Hezbollah,Hamas,Islamic Jihad Army, and Egyptian Islamic Jihad would all be wanting to keep the republicans in power. If you want more information on these groups and what their ideals and motivations are then you should check out the bbc, or the al jazeere wbsite....

  10. Given how successful terrorist groups have been in attacking US soil since 2001, I'd say very unlikely.

  11. i think it is tampa bay in the mlb playoffs

  12. Let's think here a minute.  Terrorists from the middle east are gonna attack us in October so that everybody will keep the Republicans in office.  They actually want a Republican that believes in kicking asses that attack us instead of some wimp that believes in diplomacy as a means to prevent attacks on us and even if they attack we'll go running to the United Nations for sanctions against them and that will keep us safe.  Wow!  You're a genius.

  13. Well I AM accusing them of a conspiracy. Their October surprise was the Russia/Georgia/Ossetia deal. They're trying to revive the cold war so they can paint McCain as a cold warrior.

Karl Rove and Saakashvili were kickin it just weeks before the attack.
