I was on the pill for five years. Stopped after my last period and havent had my period again yet. Its only over due by a week, but im just curious to know if this is common for it to be late, or is it possible (obviously it is possible, but is it common?) to fall pregnant in the very first cycle after stopping?

Thanks!

  1. I was on the pill for 10 years and got pregnant the first month that I forgot to start on the right day.

  2. it could just be your hormones trying to adjust...buut my sisters best friend got pregnant after her 1st month off the pill..h**l theres people who get preg on the pill..so anything could happen.

take a home preg test and see what it says hun

  3. I got pregnant within the first month of getting off BC, so I think it is totally possible that you are pregnant. By a pregnancy test. It never hurts to check and be sure.

  4. I hope not,  My first cycle could stop on a dime, but it didn't have the power to get over it.

  5. Well, I became pregnant while ON the pill. So, I'd say it's very possible.

  6. I don't know about common but it is very possible. The pill is not like the shot (which can take away your fertility for a while), you can actually get pregnant right away after coming off the pill. You should definitely test!

  7. Actually, according to my gynecologist, it is highly likely.  We discussed trying to conceive later this year, and she said to try a lot right after we stopped using the pill as you are really really fertile just then.

  8. I don't think it is any more likely than any other time, but yes it is certainly possible. Doctors usually recommend having one natural cycle before trying to conceive but I don't know the exact reason. You'll probably want to take a test.
