How long a student visa takes to be issued ? im planning to apply 3 weeks before my school starts??

since i do not have another choice the univ wouldnt send the I-20 on express air mail .. so i think it will come next month 6th dec and my studies start on 4th jun 08 ? after an appoitment n n everythin it will leave me 3 weeks

Im from saudi arabia btw if that means something

They take at least four months to process.

There's quite a bit of variation in this, which is why students are requested to come in as early as possible. Assuming that everything is fine with your visa application and the officer intends to approve the visa, it will still have to go through various clearance procedures, as I'm sure you know. It's pretty much impossible to predict how long that will take. There are too many variables.

Process will take far longer than 3 weeks.

If your studies start in June 2008, you have months to go, I can't see the problem.

If that is meant to read Jan 08, then you haven't got a chance, bear in mind that the embassy will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day, you have no chance of getting it done during December.

You should apply for the visa immediately.  The process takes WAY longer than 3 weeks.
