How long after a UTI should my husband and I wait to conceive?

Recently I had a UTI..maybe my second one ever..and it spread to my kidneys. I spent a few days in the hospital with a fever. I received IV fluids, antibiotics, etc. I also had a cat scan done. I plan on waiting at least 1-2 cycles before trying to conceive again. Has this happened to anyone else? We had a first trimester miscarriage in the spring, and we're nervous about it happening again. Thanks

I have had a few UTI's during while ttc.  Although I have never had one that extreme.  I was never told a UTI would make conceiving harder.  You may want to wait though until you are back in complete health and off all medications.  I think 1-2 cycles would be enough.  I also don't think a UTI causes a miscarriage so don't worry about that.  Many pregnant women get UTI's frequently.  Best wishes ttc!!!
