  1. Normally a cheque void after 3 months. So.... yes tough luck

    Cheers...

  2. I know for a fact (work in a bank) in Australia that it is 1 year and 3 months. Not sure about England, my advice just go into your bank and ask, get lots of questions about cheques and there all pretty simple to answer :)

  3. its 6 months from the date on the chq ie 9 june 08. u need to ask the person who gave it to u to give u a new one or amend the date and sign the amendment.

  4. Yes it will be out of date.

A cheque in it's uncashed form is only valid for 6 months.  After that you have to ask the person/company if they will write you another one.

  5. I tend to think a cheque is valid for 6 months.

  6. Three months mate...

  7. Cheques dont go out of date, but because you have left it so long you should let the person that gave it to you know that you are cashing it just in case they dont have the money in their account

  8. Cheques are legally valid for 6 years. But it is both common and accepted practise that they are rejected (if seen) after 6 months. And you cannot insist the Bank accept one which has passed the 6 month 'sell by'. The only informal moratorium on this is within the first few days of the new year - where cheques will generally be accepted if they are dated for Jan of the previous year.
