How long after an autopsy is finished are the results found?

It can take up to six weeks, depending on the examiner and their schedule. The report is about 18 to 30 pages so that takes time to compose.

It depends. Blood tests results take 24 - 48 hours. Toxicology results may take up to a few weeks. Microscopic slides usually have to be prepared from tissue samples; that takes at least 5 - 7 days. The pathologist has to review all the information, compose and dictate a report that has to be typed. All take time.
