How long after baby did you have s*x?

How long was it after delivery before you had s*x? After 6 weeks im still sore. I really want to make love to my husband but everytime we try the pain becomes to much and we have to stop. we have only tried 2 times sence i have been past my 6 weeks. Im getting frusturated and i think my husband is as well!

With my 1st I waited 6wks. With my 2nd I waited until the bleeding stopped so about 3wks. If its that painful for you, you should talk to your doc to make sure your healing all right.

my son is 3 months and i still havent had s*x but at 6 wks my doctor said i could but im only 12

i was about 2 months postpartum and it still hurt to have s*x, i was cut though, take it easy for awhile, and after awhile it begins to hurt less... use lubrication too as this helps reduce some pain, but its normal for the first few times to hurt pretty bad.... my husband and i got quite frustrated for awhile, but kept trying and eventually it got better, im now 4 months and things are great

I waited 2 months and when we did it at the first time it was very uncomfortable. You have to take it very very easy.  It hurts the first couple of times but try again and again it will be alright.  if you are in too much pain ask your OB.  It's like being a virgin all over again. lol.

We attempted about 4 1/2 weeks after my c section, and there was a little bit of pain so we stopped.  Tried again a few days later and it was fine, no pain.  Now 7 weeks, and everything is back to normal for me.  I'm certain everyone is different. :)

u should wait at least 10 weeks. the 6 weeks are for ur healing. just be patient and wait till ur 100% u don't wanna mess with anything in the healing process.

some people just heal faster than others. your doing the right thing though....all you can do is try...and if it hurts stop and wait until another day.

*tmi alert* have you been using lube? that will make an enormous difference. astroglide is best. seriously: it is a must, and it should take the pain away.

I waited I think around 11 weeks.  But that is only because my fiance was out to sea :P  And it hurt at first still after that long. But then got better after a while.  Take it easy and slow!

well most will think i am crazy but i had s*x 2 weeks after my son was born. i had an easy deliverry though i only needed one stich and i only bled for 8 days after my son was born. and i had already had a 2 week check up so all was good.

I waited 3 weeks to the day. It kinda hurt at first, but then got much better. If it's a lot of pain you should talk ot your doctor about it.

Well i didnt have s*x until after 5 months....  lol not that i didnt want to i just couldnt because my husband was over in Korea!(we're in the military)  But i would have to say if its still hurting wait another week or so and when you do go to have s*x again make sure there is enough lubrication so it will go more smoothly.  Go slow at first you dont want to rush anything!!  Good Luck and congrats on the baby!!

i hear ya! it hurt and we'd stopped, try again and stopped. totally sucks. but it's about the birth, lol

So i had to call the doc and he said "be patient". try in another week or two... it'll be okay....

So we waited 3 more weeks and it hurt, not as bad... now, it's perfect.

he told me if i was still in a lot of pain, then to call him.. but i didn't have to do that, thankfully.

After my first child it took about 8 wks to start cause I had lots of tearing and I was really sore and it hurt for a while after starting s*x.  Now with my 2nd child I was able to resume in 2 wks because I had no problems with the delivery.  I would call the dr. and see what they say about the pain it could be that you have something that isn't healing quite the way it should and then they can catch it sooner rather than later or it could also be that you may need to really lube up in order to get everything going again.

My son is 4 and a half months old and I still have the same issue as you.  My husband and I have tried 3 or 4 times and I just have to stop because it feels like the worst rug burn on the "inside".  I was worried I'd be all loose, but it actually feels too tight!  I had a minor tear and stitches when I gave birth, but my OB said he couldn't even tell where I tore at my 6 week check-up.  So who knows why all the pain is there and how long it'll last.  I keep telling myself that people do have more than one child, which means they eventually have s*x again.  We have tried lube and everything which doesn't help.  I am breastfeeding which apparently makes you dry and lowers your drive anyway.  Good luck, and keep trying!  Menawhile, I have found that oral s*x keeps my husband happy.

we got the ok from my doctor at my 6 week post partum visit, but it still took me another week to get up the nerve to try it.  My husband was patient and when we did do it, he went slow and we used some lube to make it go in easier.  It was still tender, but once we got into it (no pun intended), things got better.  Good luck!

After my first it was a long time because of the emotional stress around his delivery.

After my second I think it was 4 or 5 days and I had a second degree tear.

If you are using enough lube and are still in that much pain I would suggest things weren't stitched up properly.  I ended up ripping my stitches out 3 days after my first because they were in completely wrong.  However after my second the midwife couldn't put the stitches in until the next day (had to run off *lol*) and its actually better to stitch after the swelling goes down anyway.  As soon as the stitches were in I basically had no pain.

lol...it's been 2 1/2 months and we still haven't. First I was sore and bleeding, then i was sore. Then I had my period, then got Mirena..then more soreness and bleeding, then my next period and more eight bleeding. We don't like having s*x when I'm bleeding...too messy. I hope to be able to have s*x with my husband soon..we haven't even had s*x since conceiving last Sept! It's okay with me, but I know he wants to.
