I am 14 weeks post-partum. I haven't gotten my period yet. Is this normal? I am not breastfeeding. I don't think i could be pregnant again since my husband and I have been using protection. What is the average time frame to resume menstruation?

  1. I bled for 6 weeks postpartum from giving birth and then immediately after started my period. At my 6 week check up I had Mirena "installed" lol so I didn't get my period again for about 4 more months. If you are concerned about it call your doctor or try a pregnancy test. Your body is still healing itself so it may not be back to normal quite yet.

  2. I nursed a lot and didn't have a period until a year after my second baby was born.  With my first I had 4 scattered over the course of 2 years.  It depends on how long and how much you nurse.

  3. I resumed menstruating exactly 6 weeks to the day of giving birth. I breastfed for 3 of those weeks, then formula fed after that

  4. as mentioned every one is different and it can take up to a year , i didn't get mine until 4 months later but they were heavy its only now (7 months later that they are going back to the norm) but have also noticed i get a couple more days added on to enjoy the experience of it all what a joy (noooooot)lol so dint be to concerned ,its gonna take a while before your insides are back up to normal
