How long after death would it take for a body to start getting bloated?

What about if the person drowned?

  1. I would say two days. Enough time for the gas to build up inside the body.  All depends on the heat of the day.  I think drowning will take longer especially if the water is cooler.


  2. typically, about 3 days. If drowned, it will never bloat, unless it's taken out of the water. If it comes out of the water, it bloats on the way up from the pressure change.
