How long after getting wisdom teeth out is there a risk of dry socket?

Okay so I'm getting my wisdom teeth out on the 6th (all 4, impacted) and I want to go on vacation before the summer's up, but I go back to school the 16th. I have to be mostly recovered and have no chance of getting dry socket while I'm gone for my parents to let me go. Anyone know how long that risk lasts? Or any other things that might prevent me from going?

I got my four wisdom teeth taken out today so last week I studied on yahoo answers lol. I found out that it's usually 5-7 days before you don't have to worry about it anymore. That's the thing that I am most worried about. good luck =)
