  1. You have to start repayment 6 - 9 months (depends on the loan) after graduation or else defer.  You can defer when in grad school (until you graduate from grad school) or if you are unemployed, have economic hardship, or are in the military (for 3 years).  To defer you have to file some paperwork, however.  You can get it from the loan holder.


  2. I believe it starts roughly 6 months after you leave college.
