Hello...Drinking through a straw following wisdom tooth or nay other tooth extraction is dependant on how fast you heal..In most cases you should not have a problem after one week...As for smoking, sorry, I've had to many patients loose all or part of their jaws or tongues due to oral Cancer and they were all tobacco users. Some lost part of their lips....Given those experiences I can't conscientiously suggest that smoking is something you should do...Good luck and I wish you well.

  4. Not till after it is healed. You can stuck the blood clot that has formed and cause it to bleed again and could get dry socket. Avoid a straw for a while. If you have to smoke...take soft drags. Don't suck hard or you will be sorry.
