I had a miscarriage in Nov '07 that was a D&C. I immediately felt un pregnant. This time I have been miscarrying since Aug 3 and it finally passed through on Tuesday night, but I still have morning sickness and cravings even though there is no baby...we have verified with an ultrasound that I am "empty" and trust me...I saw the evidence with my own two eyes. Any ideas?

  1. you need go to the doctor for follow up blood work to make sure your levels are dropping.  As soon as they start dropping the symptoms will start to go away.

  2. The hormone levels should drop very quickly now.  If not, then something is producing more hormones.  The possibility of another pregnancy should also be considered...just a guess based on the fact that the hormone levels aren't dropping as quickly as expected.

There are two causes of pregnancy symptoms.  One is hormonal.  The other is psychological.  That is why men can have pregnancy symptoms without the possibility of being pregnant.

As other have mentioned, your symptoms should decrease with a decrease in hormone levels.  You should consider the psychological effects.  Are you depressed?  Is there grief?  Are there other stresses such as money, job issues, or relationship issues?

Talk with a doctor.  Eliminate physical causes before worrying too much about other stresses.  In fact, try not to worry anyway.  That by itself is a stress.

  3. it took 4 weeks before my symptoms went which is torture i felt my body was mocking me like u i saw with my own eyes my baby was gone, i had scans, tests etc yet my body still had sickness, tiredness etc

its an awful time for you but hopefully it wont be to much longer for you

i wish u all the luck in the world for the future u are in my thoughts x x x x

  4. It all depends on how fast your hormone levels drop.

It can be days or weeks. With a D&C that pretty much drops your levels down immediatly but with a nautral miscarraige they drop at their own pace.
