How long after miscarriage do you have to wait to get pregnant? I know some people say 3 period cycles and some people say it depends on your Hcg level. If I was suppose to be 11weeks 5days today, but the baby died and measured at 8weeks today...& I have a D&C scheduled monday...then how long does it take to have my body get back to normal? Also does recurrent miscarriage effect that? Like if I had an m/c 11/07, 3/08, 8/08?

  1. Yes definitely, recurrent m/c affects a lot! I think there is a need for you to have a work up on your reproductive system, probably to straighten your uterine capability to hold fetus until nine months.. I think there is no problem with regards to the ovum and sperm, considering 11/07, 3/08, 8/08... so the soonest your uterus can recuperate the soonest you will be future mother again.. Good luck!

  2. So very sorry you are going through this again.  Once is hard enough, let alone 4!  It is not recommended you have s*x for about 2 weeks after, just to reduce the risk of infection.  You COULD get pregnant right away, before even having your next period, but I think it's best to wait until you have your first cycle, then you know your body is functioning properly again.  I had a miscarriage in March at 7 1/2 weeks, and started actively trying again after my first period.  Still not pregnant, still trying.  I started using opk's right away and my cycle took 2 months until it was completely back to it's 28 days with ovulation on day 14 (so textbook lol)

Because you've had so many miscarriages already, maybe talk to your doctor about taking baby aspirin once you get pregnant again.  I can't remember what it does, but it worked for my friend because she has clotting issues.  She had 3 miscarriages before being diagnosed.  With the last one, the pregnancy was going along perfectly until the dr told her to stop taking the baby aspirin to "see what happens".  Just something to consider and maybe talk with your dr about.

  3. hi hun! it's jill_ttc#3 on fertilityties. small world:)

as hard as it may seem i would wait at least 1 cycle after your d&c to ttc again. Im so so sorry again for your loss. Im in the midst of having a m/c myself and it's sooo hard:( we plan on ttc again when i get af back. (((hugs))) and don't give up.

  4. Your Body will take only 1 cycle to get back to normal , keep trying Baby Dust !!!! :-)

  5. Aww... I'm so sorry... that's awefull. You're body needs about 2 weeks to filter out any bacteria and discharge. And you're baby (when you have it) will be fine. Most women have 8 miscarriages  through out their lives that and never even know they had one. Weird yeah.

Good luck, I hope you'll be ok and your future baby too.

  6. i have had 3 miscarriages and the doc said its because I'm not giving my self time to repair itself so I'm waiting 3 months now to try for another ma be you should you can get preg straight after a miscarriage but its not healthy for you but some women its ok they had a miscarry that moth got preg and have a healthy pregs and etc so it all depend on you are you giving your self time i know its really hard i want a baby i want to be preg now and i hate it that i have had losses but  you got to get better first be for trying again

  7. Has your Dr. been able to figure out why you keep miscarrying? My first pregnancy went smoothly, so when I was pregnant a few years later I figured all would be fine, but I miscarried at 8 weeks. Turns out I had a low progesterone level. I didn't care for how that OBGYN had handled my miscarriage and low levels. She was also very adamant that I wait 3 months before trying again. But I have worked in the health care field and new that you could try again right away. I decided to go one cycle though, and let myself process everything - then the next month I actually did get pregnant again. I changed my OBGYN and they were great. My progesterone levels were watched, in which they were low again and I did need shots. My daughter is now a healthy active 1 year old. If you haven't already I would just try to figure out with your Doc why this seems to keep happening. Keep your hope alive.  Good luck
