How long after miscarriage do you have to wait to get pregnant? I know some people say 3 period cycles and some people say it depends on your Hcg level. If I was suppose to be 11weeks 5days today, but the baby died and measured at 8weeks today...& I have a D&C scheduled monday...then how long does it take to have my body get back to normal? Also does recurrent miscarriage effect that? Like if I had an m/c 11/07, 3/08, 8/08?

  1. I had a miscarriage at 13 weeks and then waited only 2 months before getting pregnant again.  I had a D and C after the miscarriage and due to that and the fact that I only waited for 2 months I now have something called Placenta Previa.  It hasn't caused any problems with my baby butI do have to have a c-section now.  I wish I had waited a few more months.  Good luck.

  2. I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks.  My Dr told me to wait 2 cycles but We waited only 1 cycle. I got pregnant immediatly and am now 27 weeks along

  3. I am so sorry to hear.

I am also in the same situation, I would have been 16 1/2 weeks, had my 16 week check up yesterday, and they were unable to find the baby's heartbeat.  My doctor gave me a vaginal supositoy(?) to soften the cervix preparing for a D&C which was scheduled for this am... this  put me into labor instead, and I had a D&C 1:30 this am.  My baby was measuring only 13 weeks.

Anyway, to answer your question... my doctor told me after I have finished bleeding this time, wait one normal cycle and then we could begin trying again. Also, after the D&C I felt tired and dizzy (associated to blood loss) but after a few hours in the hosptial I was released this morning and have felt fine since.

I hope this helps, good luck with everything.

  4. I was told to wait till I had one normal period. But ask your doctor.

  5. Sorry to hear about your loss.

I had a miscarriage and was told to wait 3 months before trying again. I didn't need a D&C though, my body expelled everything on it's own.

As for the reoccurring thing, im not sure. I only had the one and now I'm 38 weeks.

    Best of luck.

  6. There is a preference to wait and not tryand until you have had one complete cycle but many peopl believe this i recommended simply so it is easier for them to work out LMP.

Please wait until you feel YOU and your partne are emotionally ready to cope with another pregnancy before trying again.  Miscarriage can be very hard.

If you are having repeated miscarriages the doctor with often recommend some bsic investigations to rule out any potential underlying cause.

    Good luck.

  7. you can start right after you stop bleeding i know the doctors say to wait til you have your next period so that you heal emotionally and are stable.. and arent at risk for infection. but i know people that concieved right after having a miscarriage without have a normal period again.  but usually its when you want to is what my doctor said when your ready but he told to wait a month so that i could know what i got pregnant but also said it didnt matter because he could tell by ultrasound and blood work which totally contradicts what he said but anywho... good luck im sorry that you have been through all of this it must be very very tough.,,baby dust to you

  8. I had a miscarriage over a year ago. I was supposed to be 13 weeks. I found out that my baby had died at 10 weeks. It does not matter how high or low your HCG are.. in comparison of when you will get pregnant again. My body was back to normal within a month.. back on periods and what not.they were normal... does recurrent m/c effect that? no.. Umm it took me 8 months to get pregnant.
