Minimum 2-3 days, or at least until the bump is no longer noticeable. If you handle them, then their automatic response is to regurgitate the food so they it can escape from a predator. Snakes can easily die when regurgitating food so don't risk it! Snakes live for up to 20 years - you will have plenty of opportunitites to handle it!
