I'm just starting to potty train her....and she is wearing panties, no pull ups BUT should I let her wear a diaper during naps and long outtings or will that be confusing?

  1. we let my nephew wear pull ups for his nap and at bed time.

If their is no bathroom on your outing that a child can use then have her wear pull up.

but if you are going to the store or to visit some one then no pull up.

About 15 min after drinks and food

  2. I'm currently doing the same thing with my 2 year old daughter.  Naps and bedtime we use the Goodnights (like a pull-up).  During outtings, I leave her in panties, but I pack extra sets of clothes just in case.  I take her to the potty the moment we get to the store and before we leave.

I always take her potty about 20 minutes after drinking anything.  I also take her every hour, just to make sure.  We've only had 3 accidents in the last 4 days.  So far so good!

    Good luck!

  3. not a diaper, but a pull up would be fine. about 30mins after she eats you should ask her to go potty. and on long outings you should plan on taking her to the bathroom all the time. potty training is not hard as long as you stay consistent, and every time she says she needs to go, let her.

  4. About 30 minutes.  I would let her wear a pull up during naps and bedtime unless you like laudry.  Her bladder isn't big enough to hold urine that long and she sleeps too hard to wake up and go potty.  I would definitely use them on outing.  PUblic toilets are disgusting.  Use the pullup and tell her it is the same as wearing panties.  That way she can still go to the potty if that's what you want.

  5. My kids could produce urine once an hour. I did not want to potty train my kids twice (once to go on the potty and then later to stop using the potty and use the toilet), so I used their interest in the real toilet to help motivate. I researched and found a very sturdy stool with sides for the toilet so they could hold on without touching the toilet. http://www.amazon.com/Elite-Child-Corpor... They actually enjoyed going like a big kid and would go without being reminded. With this stool they were potty trained right away and it was well worth it.

In potty training, my goal was to minimize stress.  At nap time I started out using a diaper and when my child gained control then I stopped using a diaper at nap time.  Hope this helps.
