I'm posting an ad for a cat I found, he has an appointment this Thursday to be neutered, how long should I keep him before I allow anyone to take him home? I want him to be fully recovered from it before he goes.

  1. At least two weeks.  And you want the vet to take a look to make sure the surgical sight has healed properly, before you adopt him out.

  2. I just got my 2 female kittens done  the vet said stitches out in 2 weeks, most cats recover well in 48hrs, some males even quicker as they don't require any stitches, as long as you explained the cats requirements to the new owner and they were willing to take the responsibility, there is no reason why you can't let the cat go after a week. Check with the vet after you have him done as there is always the possibility of complications.

  3. 10 days is the usual time period that vets tell you to keep the animal calm and to keep the incision area clean & away from water.

  4. I WOULD PROBABLY SAY ABOUT 1 TO 2 WEEKS......
