How long after opening a bank account should it take for your new debit card to arrive?

Its been nearly 2 weeks since I opened my new account with NatWest, they sent me the cheque book and online banking activation code but no debit card or PIN yet! I put money into the account when I opened it and I want to start using the money without having to travel 20 miles to my nearest branch, should I ring up or is this a normal amount of time to wait for the card?

  1. About i'd say 10 days

  2. It normally takes 10 business days and they usually send your pin code before or after you get the card for security reasons. I'd contact the bank by telephone if I where you.

  3. Call them straight away as it should be pretty fast - if they have sent it and you haven't received it, then check with them it hasn't been activated by someone else, and check your online account every day to make sure there's no money disappearing.

Hopefully it's just a mistake and they forgot to send it, but make sure you keep an eye on your account for a while.

  4. You should receive your new card and PIN within 7-14 days.

If it's been longer, get in touch with Natwest immediately to report them missing.

  5. Did you request a card?

Call the Bank. I would expect around a  week normally

  6. I got my new card in 2 days.  I'd call them or go in and request a card.

  7. call the bank and ask what their procedure is
