And what other factors are envolved ie breastfeeding etc that would have a bearing on trying for the second child at the earliest possible time.

  1. well they reccommed at least 6 months to let your body heal. but some women go in at thier 6 week check up and find out that they are pg. you are the most fertile after having a baby and breastfeeding doen't stop you from getting pg.

  2. Back in High School, I knew a pair of Sisters who were born EXACTLY nine months apart!

  3. It's not healthy to have s*x six weeks after giving birth, her body needs time to heal, but it's possible immediately after that. Breastfeeding can make it more difficult to conceive, but it's not an effect form of birth control. I would wait a few months so that everyone has time to bond with the new baby you already have and so that momma can get back to a healthy state before she puts her body through it all again. It can take up to a year for all of the organs to go back to their original place.

  4. Is she in a single hospital room or is she semi-private?

  5. You can start trying as soon as you feel up to it, but it depends on how soon after giving birth a woman ovulates, gets her first period, and whether the sperm catches the egg.

We started trying when our daughter 2 months old, and became pregnant when she was 6 1/2 months and again when she was 8 1/2 month, but miscarried both of them. We became pregnant again around her 1st birthday, and this is a successful pregnancy.

You can begin trying when the doctor gives the go-ahead, but it's really up to nature when you'd conceive.
