  1. The placenta will be delivered just minutes after the baby.  How many people are in the room will depend on the policies of whatever hospital you will be.  Contact them or ask your dr on your next visit.  Now, the breastfeeding.....pros are that it is healthiest for your baby, and can help your uterus shrink faster so you can get back in your pre-pregnancy jeans faster.  Cons are that unless you pump some milk out and freeze it, no one can feed the baby except you, and it does make it a little harder to just pick up and go somewhere, unless you feel comfortable breast feeding in public.

  2. Very shortly....like within a 1-4 minutes probalby...roughly.  It's nothing...

To spend the night??? I believe just one....your lucky... you have two ppl atually wanting to stay the night there w/ you...haha.  Just call the hospital and talk to the special delivery unit.

Breastfeeding is great.  There are several pros... obviously.. .just a few are

Very small mess... less bottles to wash...

WONDERFULLY healthy for your child...nutrient wise... helps prevent allergies... better immunity.

    Wonderful bond

    Cons...

    Can be painful at first...

Can be somewhat time consuming... baby eats more frequently on the breast.  You will probably need to take the time to pump...to ensure your supply stays strong...or incase somebody else would like to feed... or you go away for a night...

If your somewhat interested in trying it... try it right off the bat.  If you don't like it... you can stop.

But if you don't start immediatly... you will loose a lot of milk and will have to relactate.  This is difficult... I've tried.  Talk about time consuming......now that is.

    Good luck, hun

  3. The placenta comes out a few minutes after the baby, I think, I was a bit busy. My husband stayed at the hospital with me over night.

    Pros and cons of breastfeeding:

To be honest the first 4-6wks of breastfeeding was really hard but once I got past that it has been worth it. Mom and baby are both learning until then.

  4. When I had my daughter:

When I delivered the placenta, the doctor and nurses were taking care of my daughter and I thought the placenta WAS the baby LOL.

I had two nurses with me throughout my labour until I gave birth and one came to check on me every hour after that.

Pros of BF: healthy, always warm, made just for baby, convenient, bonding time and enjoyable.

Cons of BF: have to have a vitamin D supplement as it's the only nutrient/vitamin NOT produced by you, formula is good for being out and about and in a car or a trip somewhere

  5. It was about 10 minutes but it can take up to 45 minutes just depends. My husband did stay the whle time with me when we were in the hospital they said my 5 half year old daughter could stay too but we didn't do that. I didn't breastfeed my first daughter but i have my second and i LOVE it. The pro's are it's a lot cheaper then formula, you don't have to get out of bed to feed them at night, it's always ready you don't need to get up and make a bottle, you feel soo much closer to the baby because they depend completely on you, it's such a bonding moment, plus you burn an extra 500 calories a day so you get your body back a lot faster. I had already lost 40 pounds by the time she was 3 weeks old. The con's would be that it can be a little uneasy trying to feed them in public then you have to pump a bottle which takes time, other then that nothing lol goodluck and congratulations:)

  6. It depends.  Its different for everyone.  When I had my son it took less then 5 minutes after.  In the hospital that I was in all of the rooms on the maternity floor are private rooms but it depends on the hospital.
