How long after you get a Cartilage piercing can you swim in a lake?

I had my Cartilage piercing a few weeks ago, 2 1/2 weeks ago (three wks on monday) And i'm going to the lake tomorrow, is this a bad idea-- my piercing is pretty healed and i can sleep on it now too! but i was just concerned about the lake water, should i just clean it very very well afterwards?

It's not fully healed it takes about 2-3 months to fully heal. You need to wait that long to go swimming, since those waters are so dirty. It can set back the healing time with an infection.

dont do this unless its healed seriously its not worth risking the infection and i know what i am talking about when it comes to piercings.

is cartilage the top part of your ear if it is i really wan tto get it and does it hurt??

you should be fine unless it's a filthy lake. clean the piercing every 2-3 hours or so, just to be safe. you should be fine since it's healed pretty well, but you don't want to risk it with all that algae and stuff in there!
