How long after you were induced did you actually give birth?

With my daughter my water broke at 37weeks & 6days. I had no contractions, so when I got there they gave me pitocin to start the contractions and after 19hours of labor she was born at 5:18am the next morning at exactly 38 weeks.

Now this is my 2nd and they are going to induce me at 39weeks. Like I said the first time my water was broken when I went in, so it had already started. This time it will be from scratch. I am 1cm dilated (as of 36 weeks). He said he has no interest in checking to see if I have dilated further because if I go into labor, GREAT. If not, okay. They will induce at 39weeks.

So ya, my question is...how long after being induced did you finally give birth?

Like I said this is my 2nd child, and I was 1cm at 36weeks. Think it'll be quick? LOL. Wishful thinking huh?

  1. 22 hours.

Why are they inducing you at 39 weeks? If it is not medically necessary, I would decline it. Inductions carry risks, especially unnecessary ones.

  2. 23 hours

  3. That is all about your body.

My best friend went into labor and needed extra help so they induced, I took her in, stayed a few hours, drove out of town a few hours, came back and a few hours later her baby was born.. about 16 hours there.

The let me sister push for 4 hours... she was induced, she didnt have the baby until about 11 hours after being induced.... and then it was a c-section

  4. My water also broke at 37wks 6 days, also no labor. I was induced the next day, it took 16hrs.

  5. Didn't read all your stuff but the answer to the question you asked it took me 12 hours after getting induced to have my daughter 3 years ago.

  6. I just had my fourth child on July 29 and I was induced. I labored for 26 hours!! That was my longest labor of all... And Madeleine is also my biggest baby at birth (8lbs 8oz).

Really the only reason my labor went on like that was Madeleine was posterior (head up towards my belly).

I hope everything goes well (and fast) for you! Good luck and congratulations!
