Leif Ericson is the first recorded European to stumble into the Americas in the year 1000. Though it is possible that earlier Europeans made it here such a s the Romans, Irish and Greeks. Phoenicieans and egyptians may have also made that voyage, but they are not Europeans (though the Phoeniceans did have colonies in Europe)
