  1. There is no time in the astral plane.  ;)


  2. They can vary enormously, I've had dreams lasting only a couple seconds and others that seemed to go on for hours.

    Besides, dreamtime is different than normal time so it's hard to gauge it.  Once I was napping and dreamt about an epic journey that seemed to last forever but I woke up and only 5 minutes had passed.

    You could experiment by having someone wake you up in the middle of the night every 30 minutes and ask you about your dreams.  Of course chances are you'll be dreaming about killing your friend...
