How long are medicines good....??

After their experation date??

I have 3 packs of ortho tri nessa that expire aug. of 08 how long after their ex. date are they good for??And are they not as effective after that date??

  1. medications are usually good for a year (and that is from when you first get them, not a year after exp. date). i would get some new pills since they expire this month. and you are correct, they are no longer as effective after their exp. date


  2. I'd say they are still good for about  two months after the date. The companies are very conservative with thier experation dates on medicines to keep themselves safe from any problems.

  3. I'd say that they won't be as strong as they were when you first got them.. And not sure how good they'd be after expiring!

  4. I doubt that a few moths after an expiration date will really hurt the effective use of the medicines. If you can't afford new medicines then ask your doctor.

    Lots of clinics in poor countries take and use older medicines because that is all they can get and afford.
