They run the length of the state, from Oregon to Mexico.  The Sierra Nevada runs from about the Tehachipi's to near Lake Almanor, just south of Mt. Lassen.  That is where the Cascades start, and run up through Washington State to Canada.  You will find actual mileage at Google.
