How long are we as Americans going to stand by and let our gov. run us in to a hole that we will never get out

We send money over seas to help everyone. And here we have 41+/- million people without health ins. What is that all about. Just think about it we put the rich into office to run this country and all they ever think about is the rich. It is time for the people of the USA to stand up to the rich and bring them back to earth with the rest of us. The rich get richer and the poorer get poorer is all so true. We need help and we as Americans have the right to do something about it. If you feel the same lets talk and try as a people to get our Country back from the rich.

Most of the people in Congress running up the intolerable deficit are 'rich' people. Name one member of congress who didn't spend millions to get where he is. Name one 'poor' person who has a snowball's chance of getting elected, and who will make a gnat's pharte of difference if he/she does.

Considering that less than half of our citizens who are eligible to vote aren't registered to vote, that less than half can even name their local Member of Congress and less than one in five has even read the Constitution I would say that civic sloth has been celebrated as a national virtue for many years. One could also add to that the Pavlovian conditioning that views the President as some sort of Federal Wizard King instead of the person who has to carry out the duties in Article Two of that Constitution.

As for the end of your dissertation, my father and I both worked hard all of our lives. And I cannot recall either of us working for a poor man. I have no class envy about the rich and no desire to engage in class warfare. I leave that last bit to the Marxists.

This kind of talk is dangerous and foolish. Of course the rich get richer and the poor get poorer! You know why? Because for the most part (there are exceptions) the rich actually handle their money intelligently while the poor usually do not. If you dispute this then try to explain why 1/3 of all lottery winners are bankrupt within just 5 years. The worst part of your little rant is that you seem to think this is all somehow the government's responsibility. Can you point out to me where the constituion gives the government the right to redistribute wealth? If we give into this borderline socialism our system will eventually collapse. When the competent people who make the world run are taxed heavily to support the incompetent we are heading for one major trainwreck. Democracy does not guarentee equality of conditions, it only guarentees equality of opportunity!

"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

Well, I'm glad you wrote 41+ million "people" rather than "Americans" - since over 2/3 of them are immigrants, and about 1/3 are illegal immigrants.

It's also only 19 million that are w/o health insurance for the full year - meaning the rest are seasonal workers - e.g., heating oil truck drivers, agricultural workers, etc....
