Question:

How long are you allowed to keep dental wax on?

Is there a time limit like 24hrs a week etc.

  1. well you CAN leave the wax in as long as you want, but I prefer to remove it when i eat and when i brush my teeth. I put a new piece on before bed.


  2. No limit, but you want to take it off when you're eating or brushing your teeth. It's not going to hurt you to swallow some, but it's sorta gross. = )

    You probably won't need it on that long, especially if you use it BEFORE you get a sore. If you put it on as soon as you feel something, it should be fine. That's what my son did and he didn't get one sore and he only needed wax here and there for a couple of days.

    It's a good idea to keep wax handy in case  you break a wire, to cover the pokey end. I can't find wax in the stores here, so I get some from the orthodontist, just in case.

  3. Nope, you have to take them out when you are eating or brushing your teeth. :)
